Part 17. Polimaster’s flagship detector PM1703MO-IIBT appeared in the Amazon Prime TV Series Bosch
In 2020, the creators of “Bosch”, an American detective fiction drama series on Amazon Prime about investigations led by LAPD detective Harry Bosch, contacted Polimaster and asked for a radiation detector for an upcoming episode. The plot involved a stolen radioactive source intended for a dirty bomb in Los Angeles. The storyline followed two detectives investigating a murder, with the stolen Cesium source falling into the wrong hands. The lead detective used a personal radiation detector to protect himself from harmful radiation while searching for the source and the culprit.
As a result, the show’s creators sought our Personal Radiation Detector (PRD) PM1703MO-IIBT as a prop for the scene in Season 6. Law enforcement widely uses this device to detect radiation, measure its intensity, and ensure safety by alerting users to hazardous levels. After receiving the invitation from the Bosch team, Polimaster sent our Radiation Safety Officer, Alfred Cenon, to Los Angeles to demonstrate the PRD’s functionality to the property master, producers, and director on the set of “Bosch”. To this day, Polimaster team keeps enjoying Alfred’s “Hollywood experience” stories as well as we love seeing our stellar PRD “co-starring” in the show.
