Part 7. Combining Software and Hardware for Radiation Detection
In 2010, our passion for combined software and hardware solutions led us to a major breakthrough: securing a US Patent US7657063B2 “Method of a radioactive object and nuclear material identification” introduces a comprehensive radiation detection and monitoring system designed to enhance safety in environments where radiation hazards are a concern. The system comprises a network of radiation detectors strategically deployed in various locations. These detectors continuously monitor radiation levels in their surroundings and transmit the collected data to a central server for analysis and storage. The central server processes the incoming data using sophisticated algorithms to interpret radiation levels and patterns. It can differentiate between normal background radiation and abnormal levels that may indicate potential threats or hazards. Upon detecting abnormal radiation levels, the system generates alerts and notifications, which can be sent to designated personnel or authorities in real-time.
This invention was integrated into a Decision Support System compatible with the PM1801 radiation detector. By delivering timely alerts and actionable information, the system facilitated swift responses to radiation events, effectively mitigating risks and safeguarding public health and safety. This system was among the first to underscore the crucial role of real-time monitoring and data analysis in protecting against radiation threats across various environments.
